I dont normally do build threads but Im gonna be doing alot to this car soon so I figured why not.. I traded my 85 coupe for this 88 GT not to long ago.. First off the car had no radio So that was the first thing that had to be done lol.. Well after like no time at all the car starts skipping and running like ****.. Do a tune up and find this After only 6 days I pull the brand new plug out and it looks like this.. ****! Motor swap time.. I picked up a 302 block crank and pistons off CL for $100 went to summit and got a $300 full rebuild kit.. Took everything to the machine shop to have the stuff tanked block honed cam bearings installed and have the crank re polished.. Turns out crank was trash.. sold everything to the shop for $50 and took the rebuild kit back to summit.. Back to square one.. **** it if im gonna swap motors go big or go home right? Went to pull a part and found this guy.. Well its a 351.. lets pull the starter off and see what we have.. F4TE!! That means its roller ready.. lets pull this *****.. Bronco doin work! Hahah Sitting in my dining room all stripped down.. Its a roller ready block but still has flat tappet lifters/cam.. no big deal ill swap the lifters spider and dogbones from the 302 when it comes out.. Internals look pretty good though Truck intake obviously wont work in the mustang.. I got extremely lucky and scored this lightning upper and lower intake for $300! Thats pretty much where I am now.. Ill probably end up running some ported gt40p heads temporarily untill I can afford better heads.. I still have to get a oil pan, flywheel, distributor, headers, and other little odds and ins but its coming together.. ill try to keep this thread updated with the progress.. Only thing Alex can't teach you is how not to wreck a Fox! I kid, I kid. But for real, Alex, you were on a roll there for a minute. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
