Hey guys, havent been on in awhile, been busy with life and all. Anyways, i changed my front rotors and pads about two weeks ago and everything has seemed fine. This morning on my way to work i hit a huge puddle on the highway that I couldnt see and am now having issues with my brakes. I can hear them engage very loudly when applied, and when I am at low speeds and try to come to a stop, the steering wheel shakes extremely violently, almost like my tires are locked up and im skidding on a rumble strip. I dont think this is a warped rotor issue, because there is no shaking at higher speeds. Any ideas?
Had a similar issue on the F250 two- three years ago. The caliper piston dust boot had disintegrated partially and was letting the piston engage but not release all the way especially at low speeds with similar symptoms you described. Drove three miles back home and wheel was hot to the touch from sticking piston. Replaced both front calipers, one under warranty.
