I'm running a bone stock 78 mofel 400, factory 2bbl isn't the best. A friend gave me a spreadbore Cleveland intake but I'm pretty sure the ports on the heads are much smaller than the intake. He swears he has ran it on a 351M and it worked great. Anyone ever encountered this?

I've heard it will work, with a #8053 spacer, but haven't bolted one on myself.

Is that a factory Ford part or an aftermarket piece?

That's more than likely an aftermarket piece not made anymore.
I've owned and rebuilt a 2v Cleveland, never seen the 4v
    Cleveland intake on a 400, but I've seen my step dad's 400.

Guess there's only one way to find out for sure and yank it off and start measuring.

    Ha, found it !

#8053 is a !" carb spacer. EGR capable
or looks like it can be blocked off for racing.

    Summit has it for $81.88

Hi Lunchbox you need spacers between the head and intake, unfortunately they are no longer made (weinend made them). The deck width is different between cleveland and M blocks.

That's what I was afraid of but wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.
