wonder where you got that idea haha http://www.fordfullsize.com/threads/making-clear-lenses-for-factory-foglights.11279/
I didn't know you had a thread on it. Man that would have made my life easier lol. But yeah I saw pics of your truck and I loved how they look.
I'm just busting your balls. Its all good. thanks man, love the output, helps keep the moose out of the grille haha. as far as covering your holes left in your housing if you care, what Id do is... mark what holes need to stay. remove the projector and put masking tape on the inside to match the contour of the piece. set the piece up right, face pointing down, mix up some fiberglass resin and if its a small enough spot just pour it into the area on what will be the backside of the tape. if you have to add a little glass mat do, but you vcould probably get away without out. when it dries. remove the tape and the fiberglass will be shaped just like factory. a little body filler and itll look perfect. I didnt have that problem but I mounted mine a little different so I didnt have to do any filling or anything. just an option though
That's an awesome idea, I probably should have done that lol. I ended up just covering the back of the housings with aluminum tape then covering them in jb weld to seal it. And I didn't even bother to cover my mounting brackets. I just painted them black. They are impossible to see unless you get about 6inches a way from the fog light and look in a just the right angle. I need to add more sealant to my lenses tho. And the output is awesome! These on high beam plus d2s running 55w really makes both sets of offroad lights almost useless lol
Did your radio reception go to crap after you did the fog lights? My radio wasn't staticy with the mh1s or the d2s in my headlights. But now when I turn the fogs on the radio picks up a lot of static
no it didnt, it isnt amazing already with my stubby antenna so that may factor in. thats pretty odd. did you run any new wires?
I ran a few new wires Only one of those switches has to do with the fogs tho and it just feeds into the factory circuit so it's not really new. I did ground the ballast to a common point here but my headlights are also grounded there so I don't think that's an issue. Them I ran a wire for the high beam solenoids but that's it.
Try putting ferrous load noise reducers on the fog power switch wires and radio power wire. I've used these on my Sirius Xm power supply wire to reduce stray noise they work great. You can find them in junk tv and scrap audio equipment for free. Galaxy S4 Cetane Powered Android
make sure nothing is run parallel. you can induce noise pretty easily if somewhere it did get ran parallel without proper separation or shielding. Theres a chance if you ran that wire to the center console, if its run under the carpet and up into the dash it could have run next to the antenna or audio wires somewhere. You want to make sure any voltage wiring runs perpendicular to the audio or antenna stuff.
