Alright... so I have an 87 f150 4x4 with a 302, and AOD tranny. I also have an 1987 f150 with the straight 6, and manual Borg Warner tranny.

The 4x4 has the problem that some minor electrical promlems and shorts have cause the body and several other things to rust out.

What I know for sure that I can do is to take the entire drivetrain (front differential, engine, transmission, transfer case, half the suspension, and rear end) out of the 4x4 and drop it into the 2wd to convert it, and leave all of the wiring issues behind. I am perfectly willing and happy to do this. Call me weird, call me foolish.... it's happening anyway.

What I am curious about though, is that I kinda like the borg 4 speed.... is there a way I could keep it? Will the AOD transfer case fit as a direct replacement, or would I have to buy an adapter? Would the Borg Warner bolt up to the 302 as is?

    The straight 6 is a manual 2wd?
