Got some rubber gloves and put them around the throttle body openings.

I don't think I have a vacuum leak. I don't see any smoke coming out other than a small slipping out around the gloves. Burnt through a whole cigar.

Pulled the intake hosing off and looked over it real good again. Rubber is pretty dry and starting to crack. Also notice that it was taken apart before and not properly lined up. I'll fix that and see what happened.

Pulling the intske off this weekend.

Got another EGR code yesterday before work. Gotta inspect he EGR tube that runs under the intske as well as clean the EGR and throttle again.

Pulled the truck apart again today to see what I could find.

Took the intake manifold back off so I could get the EGR tubing off. The tubing has a small crack in it at the flexible part near where the valve connects. Only bad part is, the tube seems to only be available from a dealer or junk yard. $115 new. Junk yard it is!

Also decided to pull the valve covers for the hell of it. One bolt on the driver side cover was looser than loose. Pulled it off and noticed that there was oil sitting under the gasket. Bolts were a little loose on the passenger side cover too. Gaskets were really dry.

Get some long stiff wire and ream those oil return
passages out so that oil will drain back to the oil pan instead of sitting there
on top of the head at the valve cover gasket.

Hit the jackpot today. My local salvage yard had a 96 maroon (same color as mine) F150 long bed come in on Friday. Truck had the interior missing but everything else was intact.

Got a new driver side door, new door panel for passenger side (wanted the door but it was rusted out), some trim pieces and a new set of rims and tires. tires are in good shape with a good amount of meat on them, rims should clean up nicely.

Took me a couple hours to swap the doors. I had to swap the mirrors, one was power the other wasn't, and the lock cylinders. Took a minute to get it adjusted right too, I still need 2 new hinges.

Junk yard run was $280 for everything.

Engine is going back together, ordered a new EGR tube from Ford, should have it together tomorrow.

As ally and I were walking out, some guy was trying to buy the whole truck, ally was laughing cause we had already stripped the door, tires and trim.

I got real lucky, month of September is also free admission month and 10% off your entire bill haha.
