Floor pan project

    Looks good so far. What kind of welder are you using to close it up? I would strip everything out of the cab and paint the whole thing top and underneath to make sure it doesn't happen again. Virgin metal and welds rust super fast.

    It's a Clarke welder and I plan on rubberize coat the cab. Was hoping to work on it today but the weather isn't cooperating with me

    I just went through this on my 88 dually. We glued it all together and screwed it after it was put together it was sprayed with a rust inhibitor then self etching primer inner and outer. Then we painted both sides. After all that the underside was rubber coated and the top side covered with rubber sound deadening, then a new floor mat. The result is a very quiet and virtually rust proof floor pan. I live in Canada where we use a lot of salt and sand. Hope this helps. Make sure you get any rusty bits dealt with cause once you paint it you have sealed it in.
