Problem is just what the subject line says. I think there's a cable or something inside the door that has failed in some way, but I have no idea what part I'd need to buy or how to even get to it since the door won't open and there's the back seat in the way.

Any help or advice would be appreciated to figure this mess out.

    Thanks guys!

If it won't open using the outer handle or the inner armrest handle, try removing the speaker cover - speaker (if equipped), water shield and there should be a bell crank type cam that the upper latch and lower latch cables run around to release the door.

If pulling on these cables from here doesn't work, you
will have to remove the door panel.
Ford's door panels lift up first
and then off after removing the screws in the arm rest.

I am not certain where or if there are remaining screws or screw bolts holding on that 3rd door panel.

    Does anyone else know ???

Look around, you will probably find them if it resists lifting off.

I'll bet Youtube has a video for removal.
