Your guess it's as good as mine Joe. Haha. I don't know man. I've been looking at pics and can't really find any that have that plate. I'm strongly considering swapping to efi. So many more options and should clean things up in the engine bay.
I know that they make carb spacers like they make throttle body spacers. Could be something as simple as that. Im not too familiar with carbs though.
I thought thattoo but this plate seems very thin like it's only meant to cover up someunused holes . I'm not yoyo familiar with carb'd motors either.

I'm kind of thinking that too. If I found a cheap 5.0 it off an explorer or thunderbird, could I used all of its parts to convert my engine to efi?
Doing some work on the interior today. Got all of it out. Going to buy some por 15 and hit some spots then start prepping all the panels for paint.
