So...I just picked up the truck..... it's blowing slightly more air. Mechanic stated that he now believes that it is one of 3 "modules" located behind dash. That will run me $400 total to repair. He said it was the middle module, although he did also say that he could "lock" it in place for less money, but I would no longer have defrost. It's still uncomfortably hot.... I'm frustrated

Sorry you didn't get it fixed today.

Does it show a digital temp on the dash
    when adjusting the temperature?
That would be the reason repairs are so costly.
    Electronic environmental control.
    IE the modules.

Was hoping another member would have seen this posting by now to give you some input.

Hold off on spending the big bucks just yet.
To bad you can't find a wrecked 09 and
salvage the parts you need say from
    a pull a part yard.

Many times when I have needed to repair something
I have YouTubed a video and fixed it by
    following their example.

That's pretty pricey for cold air fix.

Not something ya want to throw a paycheck at
or dip into savings or put on credit.

If you went to the same a/c place that said
the evap was dirty only to find it was a
module, they didn't sound knowledgeable at first.

I would want it fixed right not a partial cheaper
fix that left the defrost inoperable come fall and winter.

Close to payoff I'd fix it.

I hope they don't find any more "surprises"
Once they replace the bad module that
    End up costing you more.

Ask for a guarantee or warranty period on their labor/parts.
