OK so with all my extra lights, and me just getting my off road bull bar lights finally hooked up.Having all my lights on is really starting to draw on my alternator and work extra hard.I'm only going to add more lights this summer.

They want $270.00 to rebuild the alternator and the highest they will rebuild my stock is to 180(stock is 110).Thats allot of money.

So my question is.Can i add a regular car battery(i have a extra battery compartment that i can mount it to)to run all my aftermarket lights and then my future lights to come and still have my alternator charge enough to keep both battery's going?

I don't want to be out mudding at night(something i do allot of)and my truck die cause my alternator dies.

Any info will be awesome on my question, and any other kind of info you think i may need to know. Thanks guys:waytogo:

You need to get an isolator. It will only charge the lowest battery. It swaps between both batteries and that takes a huge load off the alternator. I know stinger makes them.

I will have to check that out tomorow.

I will also be adding Raptor style grill lights as well. But instead of the 3,i will be adding them across the whole grill.

I've been wanting to do dual batteries too but can't find a good spot. I want to get a **** ton of lights for the hell of it. And use them if someone doesn't turn off their brights lol.

Check to see if you have another battery plate right below your air dam.I have one and thats where mine is going.Mine came with an extra battery plate, mounting brackets as well.

Well then you would like all my lights. Also the lights i will be adding.I have well over a grand into my lighting and only adding more. When all is said and done.I will close to 4 grand in lighting:waytogo:

Will be going to look at isolators tomorrow at the various auto parts stores.
