    Hey guys,

Started my truck to go to church this morning and a cat was in the fan area.

Ended up totally shreding the belt before I could get everything shut down.

What kind of damage am I looking at? Anyone had this happen before?

Looks like I'll have to get it towed to dealership.

With luck you may have minimal damage to any
Of the serpentine related accessories or the fan blades them selves.

IMO I'd look for damage to the fan blades.
If no damage there cut the belt, pull it out, get a new one
and the belt tool from Harbor Freight is on sale this week with coupon for $11.99.
Follow the belt routing diagram label, you will have to feed the belt around the fan blades first.

Then use the tool to release the spring
tensioner pulley and you've just fixed it your
self saving at least $75-$95 hr. labor
    the stealer ship would charge.

My dad would always blow the horn
this time of year to scare the cat from
under hood before cranking the engine.

I'm sorry to say the cat did not make it. Sadly, I believe there may have been two of them up there (kittens). I was able to get one out, cannot locate the other.

Without getting too detailed, it was one of the most horrible things I've ever seen. It has been a bad day for sure.

    Sorry about the cats.

Did you get to water hose the front of the engine
Down and see how bad is the truck damaged yet?
