So to be honest, I had never really even heard of "regearing" until I started readin this forum. (I'm only 17) But could someone please explain regearing and exactly what its supposed to do? Thanks!

regearing swaps out the ring and pinions in your front and rear diff for a thicker ring and higher gear ratio. It helps your engine and transmission turn bigger tires more efficiently. if you're running bigger tires (which you are) its strongly recommended. it'll help improve mpgs as well since your engine doesn't have to work as hard to get the truck up to speed.

Is there anyway to tell (without openin up the differential) to know if it has already been regeared?

you should be able to tell by driving it. if it has been regeared the truck should get up to speed with no problem as if it were stock. If not you'll feel the engine trying to kick you in the nuts on the highway :jester: My truck has 3.55's(stock ratio) and i have 34" tires and when i get on the highway ramp I almost have to floor it just to get up to 80 :Grenade:

Oh then my truck must have already been regeared. It speeds up with no problem. I can go 70 on the interstate pushin only 1800 - 2000 RPM at the most.
