Ok update time I finally got back to the truck after getting buried in snow for the last few weeks. I replaced and grounded the new condenser and still not firing up so I'm going down pick up a new ignition control module and see if that works[IMG]

Another update I replaced the ignition control module and it still doesn't work so my next thing to replace is the ignition coil tomorrow and hopefully that will be the end all this. Another thing I found the bracket that the coil sits on is rusted and broken does that ground the coil at all or is it all threw the condenser?[IMG]

I've seen some of those coil terminal clips were a half moon shape out of black plastic with the contacts pressed inside the half moon.

Sounds and looks like you are having several rusted through ground issues.

I'd wire it racer style, not dependent on any rusty bracket and a solid battery wired ground using the condenser.

Ya got to love New England everything rusts and I have a feeling I'm going to be chasing grounds and chopped up wiring for awhile to get this truck going again

So new ignition control module, ground the condenser and now a new ignition coil and still not firing I tested the plug with a tester light at the ignition coil is it supposed to be blinking or solid during cranking?

12 volt to + on coil
negative of coil picks up lobes of distributor and gives
Blinking negative pulses for Hall effect

Solid current to coil / high energy to distributor cap would cause cross arcing to different cylinders and burn out coil faster.

Some systems are set up reversed
Coil is grounded and + is pulsed for
    Firing of the coil.
From your pics the chassis of your coil looks to be grounded.
Did you re-ground it where that
    bracket arm was rusted off?
Or was there an insulator between it and the coil?

The coil is not grounded from the bracket the coil is suspended in the middle of a plastic square and the plastic mounts to that bracket and the coil basically floats there in plastic. From the videos I watched on YouTube and some digging online it looks like the negative side of the plug should blink but it's not both wires show solid light when I crank any ideas what would cause that?

I would test the pickup module in the distributor to see if it is sending on/off pulses using an ohm meter or led type tester.
