Last few months my truck's engine has been ticking. Just tickin' like a dickens. Sounds awful, really. Yesterday enroute to get a new muffler put in the truck would barely run. Maybe 35-40mph and stumbling and fumbling. Guy at the shop pulled the codes - removed #3 COP and found the plug was not really installed. Looked like it'd been bouncing around a bit. Now the truck simply ticks like a standard 5.4L 3V - no more embarassing diesel sounds. Driving home the truck still ran rough - but decidedly better. I took it home and reprogrammed via SCT, and on the way to work today the truck just ran perfectly - with the mpg reader showing 17.7-9mpg (compared to usual 15.5 or so).
That's a pretty bad plug. I'm assuming you checked the res of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I did not check the rest of them; however I'm saving to replace the lot of 'em (stock plugs at 113k miles now).
