^we used one this weekend. one guy popped a bead so we threw a rock under his diff and used my jack to lift it up to put on his spare (which was the same as the one that popped)
my recovery system would be my warn 8k winch, shackles, 30ft of chain with hooks on each end, a cell phone to call a buddy if I need it, my spare tire, a jack, a crow bar, duct tape, and a recovery hook that fits in my hitch receiver. that's about all I need, I can't think of much else you need
when u get a strap dont waste your money on a small one youll just break it and have to get a new one so spend the money to get a nice one and dont get one with hooks on the end your just asking to break a window or get hurt
10,000lb rated winch up front, 12,000lb rated winch in back, each with 6 1/2 ton rated shackles, tow hook, and local and remote operation, recovery strap, shovel, axe, 48" high lift jack, a pair of 3 1/2 ton rated jack stands, 110v thermalarc welder to make minor temporary stick weld repairs for aluminum and steel, butane torch for cutting, common hand tools, electric and pneumatic tools that run off of air fitting and 110v outlet in rear bumper, jerry gas can, full size spare, gloves, all types of tapes, lights... did I miss anything?
I second that. Look into recovery straps. Believe it or not they are different than tow straps even though some brands incorrectly call their tow straps recovery straps. Recovery straps are a lot thicker and are better at handling the jolting action that often occurs when pulling someone out of a hole.
Oh you know I always have plenty of that. I think most of my posts are in the " what are ya drinking" thread referencing beer.
