what year? the 95-01 explorers with the 4.0 v6 were great motors, the tranny not so much, my '95 explorer had 210K on it when we sold it, don't know much about sport tracs but they are based on the same platform

My brother has an 07 and he's put 75k on it. The fuel milage is horrible. I get better milage with my 5.4 v8. The thermostat housing blew up for no reason at 60k. Ford is aware of the problem cuz the dealer was full of replacement parts. The counter man told me it was a common issue. Thats what he's been through with it.

Why not just get a Ranger and atleast have a somewhat usable bed instead of the 4.5' bed (or whatever size it is) these things have?

dont want a ranger cause they are a little smaller cab wise and she wants the four door fo the dog and our son. i have an f150 so the bed size is not an issue. the 4.0 litre is a great motor well at least it was in my bush ranger. as far as what year she wants we are not to sure yet as she has just started to look

    my uncle has a 08 limited sport trac with a 4.6 3v,a 6sp automatic,and leather interior

the mid size trucks with v8s are fast!!!

and its way faster than the f150s!! i know!

ford needs to start offering more v8s in the mid size trucks

imagine the ecoboost in a ranger:hmm:
