Is the front tank fill hose deteriorated causing evaporation/slosh loss? I had a truck this happend to. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Well, the front tank did spill out when i tried filling it up(got to 3/4), so thats certainly possible. Ive just been having it switched on the back tank though. The front tank seems to not be draining(so far it hasnt had much use since i got it) but i guess that could be explained by it being "filled" to the leak point by the rear tank. Do the tanks communicate between each other?
I don't believe there is "communication" between the two as far as capacity or fuel amount left. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Not unless it is hung half way open. I'd venture to say if both tanks are stock and the filler hose is deteriorated on one then the other is more than likely there or close. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Hmm, good to know. Hopefully new tanks are relatively cheap. Go OEM? aftermarket? plastic i assume would hold up better.
Tank condition may be good the filler hose can be bought in bulk length and replaced instead of buying premade hose from stealership Or aftermarket retailers. Even if the tank's interior are questionable, POR (Paint Over Rust) makes a liquid tank liner you can coat the inside with after removing float gauge or pumps if equipped way cheaper than buying new tanks. Good idea, cant wait till have have some time at home i can really check this thing out and get all that done. Is that the kind of thing its best to have the bed off for? I was thinking of doing that anyway just to make it easy to wirewheel the loose paint off the frame, surface rust and reseal it.
If you're wanting to do the frame, I'd pull the bed if ya have help. POR-15 would be an excellent coating to stop the rust forever after wire wheeling the frame. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
