So, what does the "XTR" stand for? Any special options or features? Just curious, this is all new to me.

EDIT: never mind, I just googled it. Figured out what a "Texas Edition" was too. :jester:

well not sure whats going on with the tailgate issue. still haven't heard anything.

looking at my options. I know a factory tailgate isn't cheap, my insurance deductible is $500, don't really feel like paying that.

looking at maybe getting an aftermarket tailgate between $150 and $350, give the truck a different look. what do yall think?

this one is nice but I would have to pay just as much for it as I would my deductible.

whatever I get, itll be locked and have a lock around the end that slides up to take the gate off.

Yeah dude those links you posted don't do it for me. It's definitely a downgrade in my opinion.

Just wait until you have the funds to go through insurance or try to find a used one online that you can get painted. There are plenty on craigslist here although chances are they are stolen.

Just please don't put one of those 90s style louvered tailgates on.

hahaha I have the money to spend. I just don't want to spend it on a damn tailgate, could spend it on the house.
I hate decisions lol just trying to find an alternative. good chance ill get a new OEM gate and itll get jacked again.

I'll let you in a secret that I'm sure a lot of people don't know. Go to Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
It's a website where reputable salvage yards list items. You can narrow the search by area. If you broaden your search perimeters you might even find one in your exact paint code. Most of the salvage yards will ship with you paying freight.
