Needed a few pics for Jarrett (with two T's) so made a quick How-To. Sorry they're kinda blurry, the GoPro doesnt like it when i have the shakes. This is for the Stepside/Styleside beds from 97-03 (pretty sure they would all be the same) You'll need a 8mm socket, and to remove the wire(?) that supports the tailgate when its down. Do one side at a time, or you may damage the tailgate. Remove the two bolts shown Once removed, pull the light assembly straight back from the truck. You may need to wiggle it a little bit to get it to move. Unhook the clips as necessary, and you're done! Follow in reverse to re-install.
Nice write up, it may be different for screws because I never had to remove the wire for the tailgate
