Externally the blocks should be the same, and everything should be interchangeable. The newer blocks though have roller cams, and are a little stronger, higher in nickel from what I read. Here's a link from a mustang forum comparing the older 302 to the newer HO 302 http://www.allfordmustangs.com/foru...er-302-differences.html#/topics/329965?page=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Picking up a block this weekend, finally. 95 302 block with 40k miles on it when pulled. $200. Dropping it off at the machine shop probably next week depending on cost. Closer and closer! Got my GT40P heads and now a block. 347 stroker kit from DSS Racing is next. $1080. Includes crank, pistons, rods, bearings and rings.
Trying to build an engine and pay for a wedding is going to get tricky. I'm guessing the engine will cost me $2k-$2500.
It's going to be awesome. Picked the block up, got it all stripped and I think I might drop it off this week to be cleaned.
Awesome! I'm going watch this thread for sure. I've been shopping for 351 blocks. I'll probably end up at pick n pull to get one. They have the best price. Since I'm doing a full rebuild I don't care if it runs or not. Thought about doing the 347 but I decided on a 351. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll try to update this as much as I can. It might be a slow build with the wedding around the corner. Also having done issues with my 2010. I've got, either, a phaser issue or timing chain problem
