New/used jeep wheels. Plasti dip question

    I would concour on the powder coat, I think he wants to go the cheap way...

    I'd prefer powder coating, but yeah, I'm on a budget. And I'm not sure how long I'm going to keep these wheels, I'd rather invest money into a nicer set later.

    If youre not sure youre keeping them just paint or plastic dip them and be done with it

    you could plasti dip them to see if thats the color you want... then paint them if thats the color you really want.

    Painting or plasti dip is the route I'm going, I just wasnt sure if I need to strip the clear coat first.

    Are they a clear coated aluminum?
    I would personally spend the time to strip them with aircraft stripped and re-polish if thy are but maintaince of aluminum wheels kinda sucks if you don't stay ontop of them

    My brother did the plastidip anthracite about 3 months ago now. He's still really happy with it. Hasn't had problems with it but it does show/hang on to brake does pretty badly
