Wanted to start blacking out the chrome on my ex so I started with the wheels using plasti dip.I liked how well it turned out I'm using it for the rest of my project. I started out by removing the grill so no over spray got on the radiator. A good solvent bath and she's ready to coat. Apply your first coat very light and give plenty of time between coats. Light coats waiting 20min between. The last pic is coat 5. I'll do six before I give it 8 he's to cure before mounting the grill. Once im done with grill I'll do emblems. Ask Amy questions you have and I'll try and help. Don't forget your adult beverage and nicotine of choice!!!!

Well this didn't end how I wanted. Just finished spending 2 hrs stripping off the plasti dip. For some reason it ended up having a feathery texture to it. I dunno if it was the humidity or what but it was not smooth at all. Stripped down and I'm going to rattle can it like I've done others in the past. If that doesn't work I'll get a new grill for it.

Yea was in love with this stuff after I did my wheels. Time to go back to the old rusto! I've done grills, bumpers, and wheels on several trucks with that stuff dunno why I didn't just do that first. Just got off work gonna get some sleep then do it later today. Humidity is low today and a cool 60 degrees. Should work just fine

Finished the grill with flat black rusto! Its permanent but the chrome on my grill was flaking anyway. Turned out really good!
