UPDATES. haven't worked on this bad b*tch for a week but here's what got done. Swapped the brake rotor out, old rotor was cracked around every bolt hole like they tried to jump it or something. replaced the brake pad too, old one was down to bare metal. got a half chain link from the go cart store and put that in. we still can't get the chain right. it's on there but it's still so loose. test drove it 3 times and the chain popped off. finally got it to where it would stay on at high speeds but it's still pretty loose. we've tried everything. we also rigged up a kill switch so we don't have to reach behind the seat to turn the motor off it's right there on the steering wheel.

new rotor, please excuse the mess of bolts and washers. that's how we got it lol. it's the only way it lines up with the drive sprocket on the motor haha

had a problem with a bolt rubbing the sprocket so we had to cut it and grind it down with the handy off brand dremel lol

Brakes, we don't need no stinking brakes. :jester:
Is there not adjustment slots for the back motor mount bolts?
If not, cut some slots or use the stack-o-washers method to raise the
engine up to tighten the chain.

I think the stacking washers method seems like a good plan. :peace:

There's slots for the motor mounts but we have it pushed all the way forward which would tighten the chain.

And it's funny that you post a kill switch engage vid. Lol as soon as we started up the motor and killed it with a switch I couldn't stop saying "KILLSWITCH ENGAGE!" :jester:

I'm seeing a lot of forward adjustment in the front bolt slots.

Build a spring loaded swing bracket and get one of these
    for the chain.
Still say it would be easier to cut a longer adjustment
slot for the rear engine mount bolts.

I'll get some daylight shots of the Baja Dirt Bug Minibike that I put a 6.5hp on.

That was before we slid the motor forward. Lol. How would we mount that?
