Since we're talking about it in that other thread...

    Here's a $25 handle for the 04-08 trucks.
    http://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=...q=&ei=eYbGVJWRC47XoASXyYCQAQ&ved=0CPACEKcrMBE

and there are a bunch of cheap cameras on Amazon to replace the factory one.

I also saw where some of the cameras already have an angle to them. Just drill a whole in your regular handle and install the camera.

To wire it up, the camera has a 12v +, ground, and Video Out. Wire the 12v to an ignition on wire, ground it to the frame, and hook the Video to your Head unit. The Head Unit should have a separate wire that gets hooked to a reverse light wire that causes it to automatically switch to the camera when in reverse.
If you wire in the DVD override, you should be able to manually select the reverse camera at any time.

Here's the best writeup I've found so far on that other site. I'll probably won't end up doing this until summer when it warms up.

I was looking at handle mounted ones too but couldn't find any for 2010.

The handles are the same for 2008-2013 as far as I know. Probably back to 2004 also.

Yeah, I'm torn between doing that and having to repaint the handle PTM or drilling a whole in the one that's already painted lol.

Nice thing about being up that high is it shouldn't get as dirty.

Let us know how it is.

I've got my radio but haven't installed it yet, didn't order a camera yet for it.

It's definitely going to wait until this summer lol I've all 20ft of wire to run under the truck, plus taking the tailgate apart and getting into the dasy... Nothing I want to do when it's 10* outside.

It should be sweet once it's all done though. I can't wait to back up in a parking lot and stop 2" before I hit someones bumper and watch them freak out :jester:

I drilled the hole in the handle and got everything wired up. Just need to tidy up the wires in the dash. I might run a split RCA so I can choose between my SCT Livewire and the Dash view.
