I assume I have to pull the timing set off to get gear part numbers.

i would bet there more miles on this engine than you think...... i would inspect it more.. and atleast go pick up a new timing set... or atleast a new top gear and chain...... can you post a more detailed picture of the gears....

I was told never told the timing set was new. It just looks new cause there's no wear on the sprockets.

Here's a picture of pushrods and lifters.

you need to check the bottoms of the lifters... and make sure there is no cupping ..or alot of wear...... on the pushrods ... be sure you clean the insides really well with.. me sure you can blow through them... and inspects the wear-balls on each end...

as for the chains and gears... i would definantly change the timing chain... if the gears look ok... you can keep them..

the push rods look good(i guess fords dont push the oil through the push rods like chevys??)...before you put them on roll them along a flat surface... be sure there not bent or warped

the lifter... i cant really tell by the pictures... just make sure the bottems are not dished in ...after you install them pour some oil on them..

and i would put a new timing chain on.. you can re use the old gears..

    ------------------------------

are you going to put this motor together like this....or are you wanting to overhaul it...if your just wanting to put a motor together for it do my suggestions there..

if your wanting to over haul it and put some money in it.. i would tear it down completly
