Blue book is from 18-21k. Just got the estimate today, 13k and some change. I have to call my insurance to see what the deal is now. I have State Farm, but they will be going after the douche bags insurance, which I think is Geico.

I'm hoping they will. Just sucks that I am on the other side of the planet, so I might not be able to pull any of my goodies off.

Don't be so sure. I had a wreck in a 99 Mazda B2500. That wreck did $12k in damages. The truck was only $16K brand new. They elected to fix it. Truck was on a frame rack for several hours worth of straightening. They kept that truck a month and a half repairing it. It was like new when I got it back. Even managed to get the entire truck repainted, so it was a perfect match all around. My insurance company at the time was Progressive.

Could be wrong, but I'm betting they repair his truck. Unless he goes and gets a lawyer and goes through all that BS, they most likely plan on making the repairs.

Hope it all works out in the end, with VERY minimal headache.

Well, just got word they are going to total it! Yeah for new truck! But the headache begins with all the receipts for additional things.
