I am not going to claim this as my own .. but I did it and I must say it works without a doubt. For those of you like me that have the OEM Sony sound system with the Sony powered sub box under the rear seat ... I was searching one day about the quality of the OEM set up ... now I love it to death but the bass I was looking for more out of it. Stumbled on a post on another forum that a guy took the sub out and put in some poly fill into it. Claimed deeper base at lower volume. So I was like ... thats cheap and easy .. lets try it. So I did ... and he was correct, bass much more responsive and crisp at lower volume. I now am 100% satisfied with my factory set up. So if you guys have the factory sub .. give that a try, cheap and easy and most of all great improvement.
Its a simple process really .. 4 screws and unplug the powered sub .. put it on the work bench unscrew the sub screws out .. take out sub .. install foam. Put it all back together done. Enjoy deeper cleaner bass at low volume. I like the Sony system .. I think it sounds great. I have no plans of upgrading like I use to .. lol
Not sure on that one. I was under the assumption that with the nav system it was the 700 watt Sony setup. When I ordered mine ford said the Sony was the best they had. Never mentioned the audio you sleek of. Again .. I have no idea on that one bud. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Fig its because drews is 04-08 polyfill will do the same to his too. It tricks the sub into thinking the box is much larger so the low wattage sounds better in your enclosure Sent from my SCH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
My dad's has the audiophile package stock, not sure what brand the sub is. Could be Sony sent from my igloo
