I did it and learned my lesson lol

I still wash my motor I just take a air hose and dry out around the plug wires and coils and haven't had the misfire problem yet

Ya i power washed my engine(5.4) after mudding and it was fine. However tho i to have heard not to power-wash it.

Question is,for ppl with the 5.4 and if you mud,how the hell are are you washing the mud off the engine?I heard its not good to let the dirty water/mud stick to the engine and all it's components. Is this true?

Ive washed the engines on both of my 150s multiple times without an issue.... both 5.4s... I used engine degreaser and rinsed it. Did that every 6 months or so. Ive replaced plugs, but never a COP. put 60k miles on one, and about 20k on the other..... weird.

Those 2 motors are fine with being washed. The OP's problem is most common in the Triton motors.

I wash mine once a month or so depending on the season. Now that the pollen's falling I'll wash it off every couple of weeks. I've never had a problem (knock on wood).

Well whats the proper way to wash the 5.4 engines?Or maybe some advice?

Like i said, mudding season has started for me and i usually do it 4-6 times a month.I don't want all the mud just sitting on my engine's components. So any info/tips would be awesome to minimize issues after washing. Thanks guys.
