Fram has always sucked. I had a brand new 1989 Ranger that started leaking oil like a seive from the rear main. A warranty trip to the dealer found it to be caused by the Fram filter that had collapsed on the inside. They told me then that Fram sucked and they suggested to never use another.. and I haven't.

ill never use fram. motorcraft all the way for me. plus i have a buddy who works at the dealership who told me that if you have engine problems that your warranty will be denied if you dont have a motorcraft filter on.

Yep. You need a Motorcraft filter or equivalent. I use K&N since it matches or exceeds the motorcraft and has a 1" nut on the end, makes it way easier to get on and off.

one of those links has a pic from a guy who was running a Fram orange filter and it blew apart on his car....completely separated the cover from the filter....

About $15.... I think its worth it though. I just changed my oil at 7500mi and 6 months and got the filter off no problem. Way nicer than fighting a damn oil wrench and all that nonesene. Besides, I'm paying $9.50/qt for Royal Purple, a $15 filter isn't that big a deal

That ain't breaking news there son...I've been telling you whipper snappers Fram sucks. Y'all just refuse to listen apparently. :birgits_tiredcoffee

You're better off using a roll of toilet paper stuffed in a coffee can as a filter than you are wasting your money and destroying your engine with a Fram filter.

:jester: I think 99% of us know that, I just didn't want to derail my Oil thread that bad with all that Fram crap.
