First of all, my future plans... More Chrome!!! Ya, I know, but I really like chrome. I would like to add Chrome door pillars: a 2 1/2" leveling kit to the front; Power towing mirrors (power folding, extending, heated, with LED turn signal); Power windows and door locks; Carpeting; A set of Centerline "Wilerness Eclipse" rims with 265/60R/17 Goodyear Silent Armor tires; and eventually, a four wheel drive conversion. I think the best bet is to purchase another cheap, high mileage truck that already has the equipment I want; swap the parts and then resell it to recoup some of my money. Secondly, Crazy Bright! YES! A real head turner!!! A build thread will, most likely, be coming soon. Tinted windows has not been in my plans mainly because the legal amount of tinting allowed in Kansas is so light, that it's really not worth it. The cops are real sticklers about it. Many of my friends have been stopped and given fix-it tickets to remove their factory tinting because it's darker than the law allows. The factory tint on my Explorer is too dark, but so far I've gotten away with it.
that's a nice truck. Just ignore all the haters that say lose the chrome. It's your truck you do what you want to it and i don't know if you can do a four wheel drive conversion
Thank you. I really can't understand the new craze in "black", but I appreciate and respect their opinions. I have always liked cars and trucks with chrome and these days it seems like chrome is disappearing from all vehicles. I felt it was my duty to really chrome out my truck for me and those out there that really love CHROME! I haven't really had too many "hater" type comments though. Most comments have been respectful even though I could tell they weren't really crazy about it. Yesterday, I applied my new chrome door handles. Today my new chrome rocker panels go on. More pics coming soon! Why do you think I won't be able to do a 4WD conversion? I don't believe there is much difference between the two wheel and four wheel drive trucks. I plan on buying another 4x4 truck to use for parts; swoping parts and then selling the other truck. I found another 7 lug 4x4 truck that would make it an easy swop, but the dealer wants 15 grand for it.
My new rocker panels weren't cut right. I have decided to keep them and re-shape them myself. It's a lot easier than messing with sending them back and hoping that they send me a set that fits properly.
