    4.6L, High Flow Headers, Dual Exhaust, CAI, SCT SF3, 35's, 4.30 R&P:

    65mph @ 1900rpm = 21mpg
    75mph @ 2200rpm = 15mpg
    45mph @ 1550rpm = 22.5mpg

These mpg's are all at a constant speed, drivin over 15mi span to get a good reading, based on my Lariat Clusters computer. Stop and go driving drops me to an avg of 16mpg, when on a 27gal fillup, will net me a 432mi tank.

Figure in the upcharge and additional maintenance cost for a diesel motor and a diesel winds up being more expensive. I don't remember off of the top of my head what the total mileage is on gas vs diesel to break even but it's on up there.

I don't worry about my mileage and never even check it. It is what it is and there's nothing that I can do about it anway short of trading vehicles.

I dont agree with that additional maintenance costs (for a 7.3 that is) because they last longer and give less trouble (if maintained properly) than gas burners. But I will say that IF a diesel does have something break it is quite expensive to repair. Some people don't like that and opt for the gas burner in a super duty....but they get 10mpg's at best.

Then there's always the Bio Diesel option as well. There's no way to make your own gasoline :jester:
