Hey guys, i was wondering how much a power difference there is between 4:10 gears and 3:73 gears. I was going to buy a leveling kit and lights, but i can get a good deal on either a 4:10 or 3:73, but the 3:73 comes with a trac lock which i would like to have for about 50 bucks more. So i guess my question is, is there a whole lot of difference, and whats the difference?
dude put your ratio, tire height, and speed in this calculator and it is perdy accurate. http://www.ringpinion.com/Calc_RPM.aspx May I ask where a good deal on gears is?
Get the 4.10s and drop the extra cash for the limited slip. 3.73s are better for mpg and high speed, 4.10s for power and off the line.
Not very accurate I get 2000 rpm on 33's and 3.55. And I agree where can I get that 4.10. My 4.11 posi in my s10 made a hell of a difference in speed and acceleration. I learned what different gears can do with my s10 my buddy let me test out a few rear ends to find the one I wanted when my stock yoke broke.
i would definitely say 4:10's im running 3:55's with 37's and all ive done different is i had my pcm flashed so the tranny has the right shift points, once i get more cash its gonna be 4:56's, detroit locker rear, and programmer to adjust shift points.
yah, here i was thinking i was cheating the system, getting gears at a good price. Psh i figured out all gears are cheap its the install thats so freaken much. So those will come with the 35's
For it to go.to 2300 rpms, u wud have to put in 100mph. check ur numbers again. And jo look at randys ring and pinion or accauto parts
