tomorrow im gonna head to memphis to hypertechs facility to get my truck (5.4) programmed. they offer a discount for ems, $50 for the upload but thats not including the handheld unit. they just upload it for you and you leave with the installed program. the benifit to having the handheld unit is being able to pull the program off the your computer when taking the vehicle in for service so your warrenty doesnt get voided. since im already out of warrenty this will not be a need for me and i'll do fine with just having the program uploaded itself. if i did want the handheld unit with it they get $259 for it with the discount witch is their cost on the unit.

i'll come back to this thread and give a report on the outcome and results (benifits) i get from the program. i know ill be proud to have the speedo recalibrated to read right!!:peace:

    Nice.

I didn't know anybody out there would just upload a program without purchasing a tuner. Your stock program is going to be history now, most likely. That's the only down side I can see to that (well, that and if you do any more mods to it you will have to take it back for a re-tune).

i do beleive i will west i just know that the gas trucks dont respond to the programmers to the degree the oil burners do and with this one pullin these 37's around with stock gear (373's) im just not confident the results will be very substancial?? but i'll take any improvment in fuel economy i can get....:jester:

i spoke to one of the shop techs on the phone today and he told me between 3-4p would be best and that dosent work to good for me tomorrow so im gonna call'em in the mornin and see if they can get me in a little earlier than that.
