When I look at a truck I think about what things could break, I know 211k is nothing for a diesel but other parts are getting ready to break. I also look at what mods I could do, how much it is going to cost me to make the truck look good. Another thing I take into consideration is resale value, I'll put 20-30k miles top on that truck before I sell it. there are not a lot of people that want a truck with around 250k miles. and the resale value will probably go down. I payed 8k for my truck with 110k miles and I don't know how much money i could get for a 99 f250 7.3L ex cab with 250k miles. when trading or selling the truck I want to make a profit or break even, really don't want to lose money. with the offers I have been given, most all of them I would have a made a profit. those are the things I take into consideration and miles on the truck plays a very large role

The only thing I see wrong with it is the fact it's a Supercab, rather then a Supercrew. I use to drive a 99 250 that was a Supercab and I never liked it honestly, luckily it was a company truck though. I've always like the crews better. Other then that the truck looks like it's in good shape body wise, not sure what the interior looks like, but in the pic it looks like it's been taken care of.

Definitely gonna be a tough choice for ya there General. :hmm:

i would not be scared by the miles one bit. everybody loves the 7.3 beast and 250k is nothing on one of them. in fact i just saw my old work truck the other day still running around. it had 350k when i got done with it 5 years ago and so it's got to have close to 500k on it now. it still sounds good and was pulling like a beast.

Well as far as resale goes on one of those, and i'm sure there's the occasion where this statement is wrong, but it seems the desire for a 7.3 FAR outways that of a 6.0, 6.4 or i guess any of the other Ford diesels. Its up there with the just as reliable Cummins 5.9 and someone who knows the difference in them is gonna look at a '99 7.3 with 250K and not think nearly as much as a say...'04 6.0 with 150-200K. But also going in with that is all the mods done by the previous owner. Thats whats always scared me about diesels, regardless of the make or model, theres SO much you can do to em that can tweek or screw a engine up. And a 7.3 that with that many miles, with limited mod'age(new word haha) should be a good deal. Just hope this guy used his truck on the road where it should be and that the m/t's are just for looks

well the general is the only truck I have every owned and since I was old enough to remember my dad and mom have always had full four door trucks so I'm pretty accustomed to the 4 doors but since I've only owned 1 truck I think I could get used to an ex cab.
that's right I'm hoping it's an old man driving it lol.

General your thinking in gas burner values .....Diesel trucks are in a whole different league. That 7.3 will NOT depreciate like your gas burner.
