So I'm gettin the exhaust done on Friday!! WOOWHO!!

Now i just need to decide if I want to do a single or a dual...

The guy doing it recommended a single with a vortex muffler... But I'm leaning towards dual straight pipe..

    opinions??

Duel out the passenger side had my old truck that way it was awesome sounding. you can hear it really good but it is also not annoying.

yea, go duals. now you can either go true duals, which means 2 mufflers, si/so, or you can do a dual muffler, si/do. I have this setup on my 4.6 runnin a Super 44. Its quiet when I'm cruisin, but sets off car alarms if I ROMP it.

Depends on how annoyed you get with cab drone. You drive on the highway a lot? Several factors should help you make your decision. I drive on the interstate and can't stand a loud exhaust after about 25 miles up the road. To me there's nothing more annoying then hearing WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA on a long trip. I know a lot of these younger guys want their trucks loud enough to wake the dead, but I prefer a nice tuned sounding exhaust any day over a loud ass cracking hot mess. Just my .02 cents...

Single in dual out Flowmaster should make for a loud, aggressive sound.

Thats the reason I went si/do on my flowmaster. its quiet on the highway (i do 100mi/day) but righteous when in it. Glad to hear someone else has the same taste.

I think My flowmaster supper 44 sounds deep and mean...it's a dual in dual out and dumped behind the back axle. Ask bigun how it sounds....

    :cheers2:

I've had to learn from experience, trust me. There's nothing worse then getting a new muffler/exhaust installed then realizing you can't hear chit going down the interstate at normal highway speeds. I like to hear it if I gun it to pass someone, but just a ton of cab drone, I'll pass.

Like many mods, exhaust setups depend on a person's taste most of the time. Some people like them as loud as they can be, and others just like a mellow aggressive tone most of the time.
