The little you're driving Dale, I'd stick with the Motorcraft Synblend dude. Y'all throw that synthetic in your mom's car or did y'all stick with conventional?

I use full synthetic in the wife's car and change it every 12k to 15k. I just started using Mobil full synthetic 5w 20 in my truck and don't plan on changing it until 7k or so.

I'd look at it and see how it looks at 5K. If it's black and dirty as hell then yeah change it. A lot of how long you can go depends on the oil filter. That's why I use the Bosch filters in my wife's car. We don't change oil until 12K and as far as 15K. No kidding, but the last time I changed her oil at 15K it was still light tan. What filter are you using???

It doesn't really matter as long as its full synthetic in the newer rigs. I like Royal Purple, others swear by Amsoil or Quaker State, others say if you don't use Motorcraft you'll blow your engine up.

Its whatever floats your boat :birgits_tiredcoffee
