Ok i got a flat tire this weekend. so i just put my spare on for the time being. well getting my spare down was not good. the winch sucks cause you have to use that specail key thats in your glove box and i just tryed to put it up and i like the winch is junk. so does anyone have a good idea on how to get ride of that key because i'm pretty use thats the part that is shot.
I'd have to check the Haynes manual, but what I am thinking is the key is just like a switch so if you pull the 2 wires from where the key is and touch them together it should work, again this is theory right now so don't go blowing anything up yet.
I don't know of any electronics on the 97-03's and their spare tires. I'm thinking when he says key he meant the lock on the spare tire. DeGoob, this is post is confusing...
Think about the crud that gets packed in there and how often they get used... They could probably stand a shot of break-free every now and then if you can even get to them.
