I totally agree, she must be a great lady to do this.

But she could have scratched/burned, but wouldn't have helped her case. Being I work at the University (11yrs now) and have a close relationship with Campus Security, I've made a report to them, they took pictures of my truck and they are pulling all surveillance tapes for that parking lot for me to provide as evidence. So she'd be F'd if she didn't provide details.

Suck dude, but it could have been worse. At least you're not having to pay to fix it and it's not a huge body panel that would stick out like a sore thumb after they painted it.

Well, I'm hoping I don't have to pay. Right now Progressive is playing hard ball, so we'll wait and see if I have to get my insurance company to go to bat for me.

Well, I have had O'Meara Ford Collision do paint before. When my truck was at the dealer a couple years back for warranty work (replace passenger front speaker), the tech actually put a scratch on the outside passenger front door. O'Meara Ford has always taken care of me, so I took it into their collision facility a few days later and they repainted the door. They did an excellent job of blending the paint, as you'd never know there was a scratch.

Progressive will give in if you pressure them a little. Hopefully it won't come to that and they'll handle it like they should. :peace:

    Thanks ya'll!

I understand insurance companies will try to get out of paying. Just had a bad experience with my last accident in 8/2006. Had to deal with AIG, and they fought tooth/nail not to pay. I had to get my insurance involved. Which after Farmers stepped in, AIG went down like a ton of bricks.

Funny, cause had I not got Farmers involved, AIG wouldn't have paid out as much. Was a 2002 F150, worth $17K. Damage, including parts/labor was $16.5K. Because AIG F'd around, Farmers paid the $16.5K to fix the truck (new frame and many other parts), then went after AIG. End of story, after arbitration, AIG had to repay Farmers that $16.5K amount. If AIG had handled it like they should have, they would have totalled the truck (being damage was over 50% of the value), and I'm sure they would have cut me a check for much less than the $16.5K. Plus, that $16.5K amount doesn't include costs they paid for Dr. visits, car rental for the 2 months it took to fix the truck, lost wages, etc. So they ended up paying a little over $20K for this accident. This experience, as well as experiences by others that I know, tells me why AIG needed a bailout a few years back.
