thanks guys. I think these with a smidge of niteshades and then I would have a completly black and white truck. of course I would get red LEDs, theyd be super bright!
If i was going your route Jarret. I would get an OEM set, paint the insides white. Then get a clear lens off some cheapo's from ebay and night shades those a coat or two, and be done. They'll be smooth and give it a cleaner look imo
They weren't a lot places selling LEDs back in the day, so John Law cracked down on the clear tail lights from people getting rear ended from the person behind em not being able to see their brake lights in the daytime. That's why the Euro style tails got popular, they were cracking down on people selling the plain clear tails back then.
Stock Lightning tails are perfectly clear, but don't have the factory "lumps" the Screw and Stepside tails have.
soooooo........I need to get my hands on a set with the clear lenses, and stockers and paint the insides of the stockers white (im thinkin black to match the heads ya?) then glue em together...I wonder If I could find a set of clear tails that are smoked...to REALLY look like my heads n corners
55 bux. with free shipping: Amazon.com: Ford F-Series Flare Side 97-03 Taillights Version 2 Smoke - (Sold in Pairs): Automotive + my old factory tails (they were leaking and I bought a pair that had a black trim, which i took off so i could niteshade them and didnt put the covers back on) = badass-ness
I like the stock look IMHO. but those are kinda nice but I would rather see a solid red light than being able to see all of the LEDs, plus I could create a one of a kind tail light that no one else has! also you would think if you were going to put LEDs in your tail lights...why not also put in a LED reverse light went to a car show last night and a guy had put HIDs in his tails
