Starting click

    I have an 03 screw bout 170000 miles and lately when i try to start it it just clicks i do this 3 times then it fires right up any ideas of whats goin on

    clicking is obviously a dead battery.... whens the last time you changed out the battery? its odd it fires right up though. how are your terminals?

    Yea I'm kinda thinking the terminals are the problem

    Yeah, terminals/wires. Could be a bad connection at the starter too... either way it doesnt sound too serious.

    bats prety old but still good terminals are clean as welll

    Id have the battery tested for starters, then move down to the starter and check your connections there. I know on my superduty it can get a little rusty

    ^^ could be... if the battery is old id still start there ha ha

    Only thing that leads me away from battery is he said it takes like 3 or 4 tries and then it starts right up.. If it was a battery or loose conection I dont see that happening.. Still a good starting point though..

    Yeah, thats the part that leads me to the starter. checking the connections are easy, and battery test is free at shmoreillys. then move to the stuff that costs money ha ha
