    Yup, you got a truck brotha, not a race car.. Save your cash, run your rig till you blow your trans, then pay a shop to re build/upgrade it to your application ie shift kit, clutches, torque converter etc...

    just curious, is there anyway to get a 6-speed transmissions for a 97-03 5.4L?

    Ya you can because the 6.0L with the zf6 has the same bolt pattern as the 5.4l and 6.8l so it should be possible but it will require cutting into your transmission hump

    Why do you need a 6 speed? I have seen some 5.4's with a manual

    I just wanted a tranny to handle the power cause I plan on building up a 4.6 one day.

    Yup. If that's the case do the engine up first, then your trans to the specs of you engine.

    6 speed will keep the motor in the power more, faster acceleration, a lot better for towing
