Well of course I read and searched and read again and again about the F150 spark plug issues before I bought this truck and was able to talk to the previous owner about the service history and he said that all 8 plugs were changed about 5000 miles ago and that 2 new coils were installed at his Ford dealer. My curiosity is telling me to pull a few plugs and check for sure but I don't want to break a plug because I don't have an extractor tool but did see them for sale on eBay for the F150.
Is this plug issue for real on all F150s and if the ceramic breaks doesn't the base of the spark plug let you still remove the plug?
Also is the Lisle tool only used on broken plugs?

If he had them serviced 5000k miles ago by a Ford dealership it should have the new one piece plugs in it. The old 2 piece plugs were what was causing the breakage.

Well then, if they do break then you'll see what makes those plugs "tick".

    :Muahaha:

So in 03 was there an update or change in the head for the 5.4 that addressed this issue? Was there a change in the thread design in the head?

Am I mistaken or did they replace the two piece plugs with a one piece plug???
