I plan on lifting the truck and going with 35s sometime in the near future. My concern is that I have the 4.2 so obviously I would have to re gear or else it would be twice the dog it already is haha. My question is what gear ratio should I plan on running, most V8 guys seem to run 4.56s and are pleased but I figured that maybe I could get a little more oomph with 4.88s since I have the V6. Any thoughts, opinions, or suggestions? Thanks guys!

Vano has a formula on how to figure this out and stay within your power band. Going to larger your going to top out early and waste fuel so be careful how larger you go.

That's what I figured but I dunno what would be best, 4.88s or 4.56s. I do mostly all city driving to and from work ad to and from school.

Prolly 4:88's if all you do is city driving. I'd go with that. Then down the road if you wanna slap some 37's on you can :birgits_tiredcoffee
