As if it hasn't had enough problems lately, now the damn thing is haunted. It woke me up at 5:30 this morning. How? ****er started itself. I have no idea how or why, but it did. It was sitting there in my driveway, with the running lights on, idling. I got up, shut it down, and went back to bed. Skip forward a couple hours. I'm getting ready to go to work. All of a sudden, the truck starts up again. WTF? Apparently, it also started itself about 11pm yesterday but my mom thought I was just out working on it. I do have auto start, and have been using the keyfob to shut the truck off every time it starts itself. Help?
Check the wiring for the remote start. My truck was doing crazy crap like that and it had some wires on the main harness loose. J.Wal
You have ghosts O_O i agree with J.Wal check the wiring. It hasnt happened to me personally but i have had friends with other vehicles that have had the same thing happen to them.
I feel as though that is probably the most likely reason. But really, where should I start looking for these wires? The autostart was already installed when i got the truck so i have no idea where to begin. If it's important, ever since I first got the truck, if I unlock it with the autostart remote, most of the time as soon as i touch the door handle the alarm goes off. And when I lock it, it locks. Then tries to lock 4 or 5 more times. Like I said its been doing that since i got it and im not concerned with it. I am however concered with the amount of fuel my truck uses while I sleep...
