Conventional oil vs Synthetic oil

    Mine uses oil from a leak...ftl. good thing its only valve covers...haha

    Royal Purple with the motorcraft filter. I'll have to try the Lucas on the next change.

    Tell us about the royal purple ....I've never spent the money on that stuff....it's kinda pricey :hmm:

    Bama, I've never heard a valve chatter from my truck and it has almost 199k on it. Yours must be a Monday or Friday built motor...hahaha

    Me either. I've looked at it and even placed it in the basket at AutoZone, but never pulled the trigger in the end. Too pricey for me. I'm only paying $19 for the 4+ quart bottle of Mobil1 at wally world. :jester:

    When I picked it up it was only a $1 a quart, than the Motorola full syn. So far I like it, it seems to not get as dark as the Motorola when I do the change.

    Nah, it's a fwonking 4.2 is the problem. It's more lifter noise then valve chatter. It's gone away now that I started adding Lucas. Not sure if it will return or not if I stop. I've also noticed an exhaust leak near my cats...damn Ford! :jester:
