I just run conventional, its cheaper, I didnt know that about fram filters which is what I've always used, I just changed mine so I'll keep that in mind to stay away from them at my next change
Cool. That's what I'm running as well. I'll have to look into Royal Purple next time. It's full synthetic too isn't it? Yeah, those Fram filters are chit anyway. I've never been a huge fan of theirs. Motorcraft filters are the way to go on you F-Series pickups. They're actually cheaper then Fram in many stores too.
FYI walmart house brand synthetic oil is good stuff....it's made by penzoil and I've used it several times. And it way cheaper!!
I didn't realize you had a v6. My old work truck was a v6. It always had a lifter tap. It never let me down tho. When I left a year ago, it had 172k on it.
Yeah, mine has like 83k on it and runs like a champ. The few little things that's needed to be replaced have been straight forward and super easy to do. The kept coming back, was a problem with the coil pack and the EGR valve and the DPFI sensor. I've went through 3 coil packs and 2 EGR valves and 2 DPFI sensors in about a 4 year period.I think a lot of that has to do with me not driving it enough though.
