    Penzoil makes a killer Synthetic from what I've read online. I may check into the ol' WM brand!

    I run Castrol Syntec fully sythetic 5W20 with a Wix filter.Both are good products overall.When i switched to my castrol syntec and started running it,about after a week of running it,engine tick was gone.

    I heard Royal purple in the winter time is not always good for those harsh envirements.Have heard it from several diferent mechs and a few online forums.I do run Royal Purple in my front and back diferential.I like it.

    Yup, that truck had coils, egr valve and some emission sensor replaced in it too. I don't remember the name of that sensor.

    I can tell you right now, it was the DPFI sensor. :jester: If the EGR was replaced I can almost guarantee the DPFI was replaced at the same time or shortly after.

    5w-20 royal purple with K&N filter.6000 mile changes no problems. Blackstone analysis showed everything great after 18,000 miles. RP is more expensive initially, but you double the oil change interval, which cuts the overall cost in half. Fwiw, $9/qt here.

    Ran conventional in all my last trucks and did fine with those, but I just might switch to syn blend on this truck, I have not done my first oil change yet, it was done when I bought the truck.

    In my own imaginary world, where. Respect for wome
    RP FTW!!! I have had that in my truck since the first change.

    Engine = 110k w/ 105k on RP
    Trans = 110k w/ 85k on RP
    Rear Diff = 110k w/ 90k on RP

    Its a bit pricey, I agree, but the first time I swapped the engine, I felt the difference. It does add HP, like maybe 2-5 tops, but I felt it. Motorcraft Filters, and NGK Spark Plugs (allows me to advance timing w/out any troubles).
