Well I finally did it!! Purchased a Metco 7.55 pulley this past summer and got around to installing it. It turned into a small ordeal. Got the pulley on but had issues with the belt sliding all the way back. Found out what was keeping the belt from sliding on. There is a bolt boss down there under the water pump pulley. You have to grind off part of the support for the boss. It's useless anyway! So once I took care of that I ran into belt length issues. Been using Gates belt K061247 since the beginning and this is the longest of the 6ribs. So I unbolted some idler pulleys and headed to town to locate some smaller diatmeter ones. Found a 70mm smooth and 70mm grooved pulley at carquest. Of the 2 smaller pulleys I purchased only one was needed. I eliminated the ribbed idler between water pump and power steering. This bought me some room but not enough. The tensioner pulley was slightly larger than the 70mm pulley I purchased. So I installed the 70mm on the tensioner and used the factory tensioner pulley to replace the idler pulley just above the tensioner itself. (the one that keeps the belt clear of things on it's way to the alt). Anyway this gave me the slack needed to install the belt. Fired her up and hit the road. Noticed right away a/f issues were really lean under 25-75% throttle but would come around to normal levels. Gave it a quick punch and made 15psi instantly! Holy *****!! Let off right away. Went back and changed blower pulleys. Installed the stock Whipple 3.375. Made a fuel mix increase of 2% between 2,000-4,000rpm. Took her back out and wow. Made 11psi and my god I have never felt anything like it. A punch to the throttle at 30mph produced a nice burnout. I did some data logging to watch the MAF. Unfortunately all I can see is maf v. I believe this is maf volt count. Anyway this count increased all the way to 975 when the rev limiter kicked in somewhere in the mid 120mph range. I hope this means the maf is suitable for continued use and isn't going to peg. I didn't have any lean issues. The power is something to be felt. Can't wait to get to Troyer's in Nov for some dyno time and any needed tweaks. Then off to the dragstrip. I took my father for a ride and punched it at 40, she rocked back front end went up and stayed up till I let off at 100mph. I have never felt the front end stay up that long.
Verrrry nice. I had a N/A 460 built in a '76 model that would do a burnout at 35 mph. That's fun watching the expression on people's faces when they see you do that.
Yep Its a nice little camera. Definitely worth the money if you're gonna use it alot. I dont use mine nearly enough to have made it worth it yet. But that should change
