With that said, and after spending some time reading through all the many posts here.

I've owned a number of new vehicles, but never a new Ford. I could listen to Mike Rowe and Toby Keith and get the company line, or, I could just ask those that drive some of the newer Fords....

I can guess that most here drive Fords because thats what they like. (and I'm sure anyone can toss in the "Dodge Sucks" comment and call it good.) However, thats not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the reason you drive what you drive. Tell me the pros to what you drive, the cons to what you drive. I could really care less why you don't like another brand, mainly because, I'm not looking at the other brands.

I put this question here, because I would be looking at a relativily new Ford Truck, I've got my beater.....

    :hmm:

So, sell me on Ford, by just looking at.... Ford

My family owned Fords since the 50s. So we know how to work on them and how they're put together. I got mine because I love the design of the 06-08 F150s and I don't have any strong reason to switch brands now...

A little background, not gonna lie, this was the first Ford my family has ever owned. Before that it was mostly Toyota and other imports. Hell we still have a 92 Camry, 93 Camry, 89 Pickup and an 05 4runner as well as an Infiniti G37 so I'm not the typical Ford owner.

The reason I drive my ford is that it's dependable and I love the looks of this body style. I haven't had to replace anything on my truck besides maintenance like plugs and such. In the ~100k that this truck has been through, the only problem was occasionally it would not start before I cleaned my IAC, MAF and throttle body. Now it runs better than ever.

For capabilities, it just gets the job done. Even with the 5.5 foot bed it carries 6 hockey bags and I have room for 6 inside including me so that's a plus when I have to drive my teammates to games. When driving, I never worry about it breaking down because I care for the truck and it treats me well in return. Also, for being 2wd I haven't gotten stuck in snow which is a plus.

My truck just suits me and I love it and wouldn't imagine getting rid of it. I'm a firm believer in Ford because of this truck and the customer service at the dealers. Even with the prices being a bit high, when I last went in for maintenance, I just chatted up the guys, talked about my truck and they weren't arrogant and they didn't dismiss me because I wasn't looking to buy right then. I will still have this truck when I buy another Ford in the future due to the reliability of this model and the treatment I have gotten at dealerships despite only being 19.
Just my .02 on why I own my ford

i own a ford cause they have been the best to me. i've owned chebbies and dudges and they have done nothing but let me down. i work my truck and worked construction for years and we always had ford trucks. they work hard, play hard, and are built to handle it. over the last 15 years i have only owned ford and each and every one of them has treated me well.

My first truck was a ford, same with my brother. They did everything we asked it to do and then some.

I had a 2 hour round trip in my truck one time. For the last hour, my truck was running hot and for the last 15 minutes the radiator was letting off steam. I was 16 at the time and didn't know much. All I know is it had to get me home. it did.

I've had an s10 blew the transmission in that pulling someone out of a ditch.

I've had a dodge 1500 it tried to kill me going down the freeway when the wheel decided it was going to shear off the wheel studs. That dodge took a hell lot of abuse, but my fords always did better.

All my buddy's had fords and chevys they all call when they get stuck. Part of it is knowledge on what to do and part of it is having the right tools aka ford truck.

I got a ford because. Chevy couldn't get a low enough payment for me. I got the 06 2x4 stx for 283 a month. Chevy couldn't get me a truck under 400 a month.

I loved it! It has a nice interior design and exterior, I think the best looking truck out! After 2 years I was tired of 2x4 so I went and got my current truck.

I also pay attention now and you see way more 10+ year old f series trucks than most any other. They keep running asking as regular maintenance is keep and you don't abuse it like it is a industrial tractor trailer or dump truck!!

My family owned all Ford since I was old enough to remember. There was the occasional 71 Dodge Challenger R/T, 78 Z/28, but there was always a Ford in the driveway along side them.

Then in the mid 80's my dad bought an 84 Ranger and a month later they bought an 85 Thunderbird TurboCoupe. I think those two Fords were the most influential on my then teenage mind. After watching Bill Elliott dominate the NASCAR circuit back on the mid to late 80's and Bob Glidden dominate the Pro Stock division in NHRA Ford Racing and then Ford's SVO now known as SVT division was making cool ass cars for their time. I was hooked on Ford products, whether it was racing or just Ford trucks, I was a fan of Ford. It never changed. I no longer watch NASCAR or Drag Racing, but if I do I always will pull for a Ford to win. I never pulled for a driver when I watched NASCAR as much as I pulled for the Ford they drove.

I've owned Ford's and VW's since I was old enough to drive and the Fords have always been reliable and given me the best service. Are they without problems? No, but compared to Chevys and Dudge's they have far less woes. I've owned my 02 since Sept of 2002 and have had NO major problems out of it at all. I wouldn't think twice about replacing it with another F150. I suppose I'm a realistically thinking Ford Fanboy.
